Juniper

Juniper Networks is an American multinational company headquartered in Sunnyvale, California and started in 1996. The company develops and markets network products including routers, switches, network management software, network security products, and software-defined network technology. Juniper Networks basically focuses on the main routers used by Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to search for IP addresses and direct Internet traffic. The company also entered the edge router market in 2002 through the acquisition of Unisphere, which is used by ISPs to direct Internet traffic to individual consumers. In 2003, Juniper entered the IT security market with its JProtect security tool before acquiring security company NetScreen Technologies. Juniper is the third largest market sharer of routers and switches used by ISPs, and is one of Cisco's main competitors in this field.
